Oh all that I know,
There's nothing here to run from,
'Cos yeah, everybody here's got somebody to lean on.

Fraser Island, March 23-26

On Thursday morning, 8 of us girls traveled up the Gold Coast towards Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world. After six hours of sitting on a Greyhound bus, we arrived at our hostel in Hervey Bay...not the best, but certainly not the worst.

The next morning, the rain cleared from Cyclone Larry and we caught a ferry to Fraser Island.

Us on the ferry ride there.

Surrounded by blue water and islands...kinda reminds me of Paradise.

We were greeted by our tour guide and about 40 of us got into a bus w. 4wheel drive that lugged us around the island for the two days we were there. Because it's the largest sand island, there are no roads...just sand paths that make traveling anywhere difficult...pretty easy to get motion sick and needless to say, some of us did.

For the remainder of the day, we drove and walked to a few main areas on the island, beginning with Basin Lake & ended at Lake McKenzie...most beautiful area I've seen. Everything went pretty smoothly, minus losing the old Italian man in the wilderness. :p

Our diesel 4wh drive bus...

Hi Trish & Trin :)

Lake McKenzie
Linds & I dunno what to think about water that looks like this...

This is lake water. Promise.

Better than our oceans at home.

Be dingo-safe...

It's a dingo! ...too cute to be dangerous. Until you feed them apparently.

Huge lizard climbin' a tree at lunch
Surrounded by wildlife. :)

Rainforest

Way up thurr.

Hiking trail

Jen trekking through the rainforest.

After the long day, we went to our lodge to wash up for dinner...which was surprisingly good. Then we had a fun-filled night of spoons....or forks.....

Playin' cards at the lodge...we retired to sugar packets after Trin & Meg turned hostile and gouged each other w. forks.

Meg's entertainment ... I was mad Linsday took a picture of me. Soo I got her back. :)

Lookout point.

Sunset before dinner.

Gettin' lower...

Gorgeous.

The morning after we got up at 6.30am to get ready and head to breakfast (because we have to be the first ones at every meal...literally, it made kinda happy). We jumped on the bus again and headed down to the ocean this time. We traveled from the shipwreck, to the champagne pools, the colored sands, Indian rock, and Eli Creek.

So there was this war ship, and it got bombed and washed to shore on Fraser.

...ok, so maybe it was being towed to Japan for shrap metal and the lines got cut...same difference.

Eli Creek

Fresh water creek right next to the ocean?

The English boys literally played with a soccer ball every place we stopped.

Da crew.

It took us awhile to figure out why it was Eli creek...

Until I went in the water, came out, looked behind me and saw this.

Megan's alone time :)

Last stop of the day...it was a really looong day...

Prettiness.

Hahaha, assholes. :p

After the tour was done, they dropped us off and we decided to go rest at the pool before dinner. So we've been on the island for two days, staying in lodges and eating outside, and the last few hours we find this:

The resort.

Really not funny.
