Great Keppel Island Trip, 3 February 2006

So when is a trip worth a 24hr bus ride?

When it looks like this:

And the view from your hillside villa looks like this:

Oh, and the beach looks something like this:

I would say it might be worth sitting on a bus for 24hrs.

On Thursday night, 250 Bond students left to travel up the coast to Great Keppel Island. Despite the 12hr drive and hour ferry, everyone managed to get on the beach the first day.

After a 4hr nap, we went down to watch the sunset on the beach - absolutely amazing. Then we had Happy Hour w. $2 wine & beer. That basically set the pace for the night.

That was 6pm. Then we found flowers & more alcohol.

Despite the long night, we managed to make it to water sports at 7am the next morning. We went tubing, jetskiing, snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef w. sting rays & the most unique fish. The reef was gorgeous w. colors ranging from aqua blue to pale pink.
